Thank you so much for making such a great product as your Human grade Veganpet dry food. I have had my two pups on Veganpet since they were 10 weeks old. They are now thriving happy dogs. Our Vet comments on how healthy they are and what good condition their coat and skin is in. It is great that I do not have to worry that the ingredients are from China, India, or some other place like the other Vegan pet foods that are for sale in Australia. I love the fact you use only Australian grown ingredients and Veganpet is Australian made and is HUMAN grade. So I don't worry keeping the food in our kitchen with our food.

You have a great product Sandy and Kudos to you for doing all that research and testing to meet AAFCO standards. On top of this, my two dogs just love the taste and break into the food as soon as it arrives. Keep up the great work.

Polly is just over 7 years old. I got her from a cat shelter when she was 18 months. Even though she wasn't a kitten, it was easy to make a gradual transition from feeding her 'normal' cat food to feeding her only Veganpet dry cat food. She never seems to tire of it, but she loves the Veganpet canned cat food too, which I sometimes give her as an extra treat. (The can is quite large so I usually freeze it in an ice cube tray for convenience).

She thrives on it - her eyes are bright, she has a wonderful soft silky coat and regular vet checks show that she's in great shape. I've thought about getting another rescue cat as a companion for her. If I do, I won't hesitate to feed him/her on Veganpet too.

It puzzles me when vegans think they have to feed their cats meat. It’s time for them to question what’s behind that belief and think again. I could understand it if there were no alternative available, but there clearly is – just ask Polly and all the other vegan pets here on this site!

Hi Sandy, We have recently switched our 2 dogs to a vegan diet with the help of vegan pet. I thought you may appreciate some feedback: Firstly, as a bit of background, we have 2 dogs, a 5 year old kelpie x called Issy. And an 11 year old Scottish terrier called Miss Bear. Both in good health. Both girls were previously on Applaws wet and dry, and Miss Bear was on Science Diet for the first 7 years of her life. 1. Taste: When our delivery arrived we tested how palatable the food was by seperately offering each dog some of their old dry with vegan dry. We did the same for wet. In 100% of the 4 tests, both girls preferred vegan. They occasionally took a small bite from thier applaws dog food initially, but then dismissed it and moved on to polish off veganpet. 🙂 Top marks for taste from our little pack! 2. Convenience: Can’t tell you how thrilled I am when I purchased food from the site that I didn’t have to “log in” or “create an account” or any of that BS. I just selected what I wanted, paid for it and BOOM! 3 days later a package. Could not be happier. It would be great if the “stockists” link on the website worked though, as when I tried (admittedly on my phone) it didn’t seem to list any stockists anywhere. I live in Prahan, 3181 - are there any near me in case I run out before my next delivery arrives? 3. Observations on health and behaviour: Several people have commented on Miss Bear’s increase in energy since switching to vegan. Her joint mobility seems better as she moves faster and appears more agile. Both dogs have had healthy, firm stools since the switch. Both dogs drink more water that before, particularly after eating the wet food - could sodium levels be higher? Neither dog appears to have lost or gained weight. Miss Bear has had extremely smelly and prolific flatulence in the evening following investing her tinned food. Issy seems to not have this issue. And that’s it! Hope that feedback is of use. My two girls are Middy (right) & Ammo (left) Middy is a 4yo boxer x staffy x bulldog & Ammo is a 2yo unknown breed. Ammo was a foster fail and her history is largely unknown but she came to me 1.8yrs ago with a fractured pelvis. Believed to be from cruelty. Her confidence is growing steadily. She's a much happier more confident girl these days. I am currently venturing into a life change myself (considering going vegan) and a good friend of mine suggested vegan dog food too which I didn't even know existed but I am happy to give it a try. Great, thank you Sandy😁 Misty- moo got a paralysis tick a couple of weeks ago and had to go to the emergency vet clinic. She recovered super fast from basically not being able to move or talk when I found her (she went missing for nearly 2 days (I found her with a torch in a tiny space under the house) and they said it’s because she is such a fit and healthy little girl. I think her vegan pet food has done her well 😸 Thanks from Misty- moo!

Hi Sandy, Thank you for sending the big bag of Veganpet to me so quickly. My recently rescued dog, Quinn loved the smell of it he chewed a hole in the two layers of plastic bag before we even realised what he was doing! We have transitioned Quinn over from the animal product food that he was fed at the rescue place and he loves the Veganpet. We now use it as training treat too. Today he learnt to sit and stay thanks to Veganpet. Thank you for the little treat hearts too, I've brought more of them from our local wholefood store. They are his special treats. Hello, My 15kg order or Veganpet arrived today, and I've tried to mix it in gradually with my dog's previous food as recommended to help her transition - but I don't think it's going to work. She just keeps picking out the Veganpet and discarding her old food!! 🙂 She absolutely loves the Veganpet. I don't know how you've done it but you've made a dog food that my extremely fussy dog goes crazy for (and I mean, she's so fussy that if she doesn't like what's in her bowl, she will walk away from it and not eat at all). Would you like another vegan cat testimonial to add to your wonderful collection? I was reading them today and I think they’re a great way to reach out to others to change to a cruelty-free diet for their cat.

“Uma is a rescue cat I acquired a year ago, and has been eating Veganpet dry cat food from the day she arrived. She is now 5 years old and in excellent health. I’ve been vegan 38 years myself, so I don’t have any animal products in my home, and Veganpet cat food is a Godsend! Uma is also called “the pumpkin munchkin” because she also loves steamed pumpkin mixed in with her food.

I researched cat food requirements and discovered the dogs and humans require 9 essential amino acids, whilst cats require an extra two (carnitine and taurine). Whilst these amino acids are naturally occurring in meat, they are usually depleted from meat pet food during the washing and drying cycles. These means they have to be supplemented artificially into meat pet food, the same as they are into vegan pet food. So there is no nutritional gain in having a cat eating meat pet food, when vegan pet food has the same 11 amino acids in it! And the vegan pet food is cruelty-free, so it’s actually a win-win!”

After making my second order I thought I’d let you know how much my little puppy Penny is enjoying your food.

She’s been finishing off the dry pellets I was given when I adopted her, and I’ve been incorporating more and more of the vegan food each meal and she loves it!

Before switching foods, I ran it by my vet David Stasuik at Cheltenham vet clinic who was not only 100% on board but said he even knew you, so that has made everything a lot easier.

I enjoy adding extra vegetables and things like chia seeds to Penny’s dinner along with the dry food. If you have any thoughts or ideas on other items I could be adding, I would very much appreciate any advice you have.

Also, thank you for the note and all the info that was sent along with my order. It made purchasing online personal and enjoyable.

Thank you so much for the lovely note and treats you kindly enclosed with my order of your dog kibble which I received today. My dogs absolutely love it! I have only just put them on a vegan diet in the last few weeks, and after quite a bit of research, I have decided to feed them half of my home-cooked dog food and half of your kibble. The plan is to give them all of their nutrients from your kibble and to bulk it up with my homemade food. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I must say it’s quite daunting!

I cook up a large pot of 1 cup brown rice, 1 cup green lentils, 1/2 cup mixed quinoa and 2 medium sweet potatoes. I cook it till very soft then puree it a bit. I have been adding nutritional yeast for B12, blackstrap molasses, flax oil, L-Carnitine, and Taurine. Should the ratio of wet to dry food be half and half and do I still need to add the supplements? I hope you don’t mind me throwing all these questions at you!

I have two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, Charlie (Blenheim) who is 12, and Harley (tri-color) who is 2. They are my babies and I want them to be healthy. My whole family is vegan so it just seemed the right thing to do with the dogs.

Now that I know the dogs love your food I am going to put in an order for the 15kg bag.

BTW, the dogs devoured the treats in seconds!

Hi Sandy! We received the wet and dry cat food yesterday and gave it a try. They LOVE it! Especially the wet food. We've integrated a small amount of the dry yesterday and a tsp of the wet into their food this morning and they are frothing. So happy with this purchase and the notion that our entire family (us, three dogs, and two kittens) can be vegan. We were nervous about adopting cats not knowing if we could successfully get them to love a vegan diet. Those worries are gone. Hi Sandy I have been meaning to email you for a while to let you know how my boys went with the Veganpet dry food. They absolutely love it! They had tried Biopet dry food as it was available at a store near our home, but they far and away prefer the Veganpet. Also it has more nutritional value than Biopet. They had tried the canned Veganpet before (we bought some at the Cruelty Free Festival in Sydney last year), so we also ordered more of that from you when we placed the order for the 15kg bag of dry food. They are still loving that as well. I have passed the Veganpet brochure on to some friends so hopefully they will place orders as well. Thank you for producing a great vegan food for our boys - it gives me peace of mind that they are getting all of the nutrients they need. Hey Sandy Here are my little kids 🙂 , the orange one is Sunny and she is 1.7 kg overweight so thats one reason she is going vegetarian 🙂 and Valentina the black and white she has the body of Kate Moss despite eating like a truck driver. Sunny had a twin sister who died a year ago and since them she started putting on weight and I dont seem to make her lose it. They are beagle x cocker spaniel. Valentina is rescued from Tasmania. I am sure they would like your food, they eat anything 🙂

Hello Sandy, Thank you so much for the information you wrote and sent with my order of 12 cans. While I haven’t got my 5 dogs on a complete vegan diet, I have been able to cut down on the meat preparation side of their meal. I do still feed them Hills/Royal Canin prescription dry biscuits because Isaboe(Jug) is epileptic, Navare(Cavalier) has Syringomyelia with a pancreatic enzyme deficiency and Samuel(B/W Foxie cross) has medication daily for an anxiety problem. The other two dogs, Charlie and Ariel are elderly and quite fussy with vegetables. Especially Ariel. But, they ABSOLUTELY love veganpet cans mixed with their regular meals, I mix Ariel’s cooked vegies with the tins and it is all gone. I am vegan also, have been for 2yrs, before vegetarian, until I saw the error of my ways! I will continue to purchase the cans and have been mixing the dry food with some of Ariel and Charlies regular dry which they are enjoying very much. With the other 3 their dry food has been veterinary prescribed for the conditions they have, but they really love having some veganpet cans with it. Regards Kylie Walford

They loved it and asked for more so I gave them a few more. Bea said that was enough but Ben wanted more but I didn’t give him any as I had read your note by then. So I hope this means they love it. Hi Sandy, I received your veganpet last week and my cat, Tully, has really been enjoying it! He liked your dry food, which you sent me a sample of a few weeks ago, and I also got a tin of the wet food from the cruelty free shop for him to try. Tully is a 1 year old rescue cat. He was born somewhere near Swan Hill and taken to the Peninsula Cat Rescue group. The group take on a lot of kittens from the Mildura/Swan Hill region, basically whenever the pound calls them up and tells them they have too many kittens to deal with. So I met Tully through a foster carer in Rosebud. Now he lives with me in Rye and he has a big enclosure to play in outside, and he is sometimes visited by his "cousin" Archer, my sister's rescue cat. He is a gentle giant, a massive cat proportionally but I have never heard him hiss at anyone or get mad. He is a bit bossy though! He has not ordinarily been a fan of wet food so I just offer it to him sometimes, and if he eats a little bit occasionally then I'm happy. Except, bizarrely, he does seem to like your veganpet wet food and doesn't refuse it. He's very happy with the dry food too. At the moment I am also feeding him some meat and dry meat-based food to transition him, hopefully he can stop eating it soon enough. I'm so pleased he finds the veganpet tasty, and I haven't noticed a change in him at all, he is very healthy and happy. Thanks for the cute little picture of the cats kissing, I've put it on my fridge. And Tully likes his mouse toy too! I'm so glad there is a good quality vegan product for cats available in Australia, thanks so much for your effort in making it available. My name is Eve and I ordered some Veganpet dog food from you and my partner has been ordering it from you since.

I just wanted to write and let you know that I think that your product is just fabulous. It really helps us to have something nutritious to feed the dogs if we are in a rush for work, and just for our peace of mind really. I am a vegan and my partner is a vegetarian and it is important to us that we feed and raise our dogs in a vegan, compassionate manner.

I am attaching two photos of our dogs – they are Staffordshire Bullterriers. They might be a little old, but I’m having trouble locating them in this computer! If you would like to post them on your website I don’t mind. I enjoy the look of amazement on so many people’s faces when I tell them that the dogs are veg – they don’t expect the dogs to be so strong, active, and healthy I guess.

The male brindle-colored dog is Seth. He is very strong and energetic. He also has a very noble quality about him. He loves affection, going for walks, and gets a bit worried if he can see that I am unhappy or down about something.

The brown dog is an old female called Venus. She was raised on a standard meat diet for dogs before I got her from a friend. She is now also vegan, and her energy levels and health have improved so much that it has made me more determined to continue with veganism.

So, again, thank you Sandy, for all your hard work, and providing a product that reflects love and compassion. Keep up the excellent work!

Dear Sandy, Thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness and understanding about our loss of Sally. We really appreciate that you know how it feels and that you took the trouble to write to us. The card you sent is perfect and I plan to follow up and find out about availability of such beautiful cards. It is indeed a hard time. Sally was such a beautiful dog and vital family member, things won’t be the same of course. Terribly hard decision but the time was right, the vet came here and she went to sleep peacefully with her head in my arms, in her territory. I have enclosed a couple of photos. As Sally got older and frailer we were lucky to have access to a house in Daylesford which my sister owns and Sally loved patrolling the perimeter and going into the water at Lake Daylesford and the Botanic Gardens there. Thank you Sandy. I think it is more Jamie looks after us, he is an amazing treasure we were lucky to find. I can't imagine why he was given to rescue but glad we got the chance to be part of his life. I've taken a photo of him today (not easy to get a good one as I'm sporting a broken shoulder at the moment and he doesn't stand still) so you can see he is still looking great and fit as a fiddle. I took him to the vets in December as he had a bad tooth (only to be expected at his age) and they couldn't believe how young he still looks and how healthy he is, passed heart test with flying colours. He has been on your food from the day we got him, which is 7 years now. I highly recommend your dog food and the treats, he loves all of it. We have Bronson, born 7th June 2016 (pedigree Doberman) and Bella, born 2004 (Shih-tzu x Maltese). She recently had eye surgery and a teeth clean and her blood tests are perfect. The 2nd photo attached is when she arrived home after her eye surgery last month. The first photo is of my little family on Bronson's 2nd Birthday. What I'd like to achieve... I want to keep learning and be the best person that I can be, sharing my knowledge and leading the way to a world where humans, and all animals that can be, are vegan and where the environment and its inhabitants have rights, where it is a crime to kill an animal. I'd like to be happy as well but have found this near impossible to sustain. I do the best I can though having a vegan home, vegan dogs and a vegan human partner and constantly sharing my knowledge by giving vegan hampers/cookbooks/literature/DVDs etc to non-vegans, using my body as a billboard (wearing vegan shirts etc), speaking about it, promoting it and being an activist. This is Tamara, I ordered Veganpet dry food for Flynn and you asked me to let you know how it was going. Well, so far so good, Flynn has been eating it all up mixed with pumpkin, squash, carrot, and apple.

Flynn loves eating and gets very excited when he sees the food, he’s also put on a healthy amount of weight.

I hope it is not too much trouble to let me know if you think it’s safe for Flynn to continue on Veganpet.

I just wanted to say thank you very much for your wonderful product. For the last year, my cat, Monty, has been on a vegan diet; made possible because of your cat food. He looks very well and his health is better than when he was eating a meat-based diet. He also seems very content with his new diet; he also enjoys soya mince, soy ‘meat’ products, avocados, and nutritional yeast. Hi Sandy, I recently received my order of dog biscuits from you and just wanted to say thank you for the free bag of dog treats and for the excellent customer service. My dogs really like the biscuits and the treats! They have been eating meat their entire lives (Dex is 12 and Zeppelin is 4) but I have gradually decreased the amount and always add in veggies and beans and grains, as well as linseed and herbs and spices (I make my own dog food). I felt like it was time to cut the meat away for them mainly because I find it difficult to bring myself to purchase it at the supermarket and when I found your food online I was relieved to see that there was that option for me. I hope that they continue to thrive and to enjoy their food, I am sure that they will. Once again, thanks for the treats, I have attached a photo of them eagerly awaiting one.

I have attached a few photos of my doggy housemates for you to see J The big guy is Buddy and the smaller girl is Storm. As you can see they are thriving veganpet doggies and have lovely shiny soft coats that never smell bad.
